The Making of a Champ

Let us redefine failure as success in progress and setbacks as the greatest opportunities for comebacks!

I may never understand your current experience or know the things you have been through. I am not going to make light of the fact that life has not been fair and it won’t start now. Whatever you expect from life, it will never come on a platter of gold. It will cost you, your sweat and hard work. That is how life is, it's the reality.

It is an illusion to believe you will have a smooth life, one devoid of troubles and problems, where you wield a magic wand that makes things really easy for you, a world where all your little efforts will produce fast and big results, but life is not designed that way.

Life by nature is meant to defeat those whom are weak and reward those who are able to endure hardships. Life will knock you down hard every once in awhile; only the ones whom stand time and time again will be successful. Look around you, you will see that life is very cruel. People do not always get what they deserve (not easily, at least), what makes people successful is a mentality of never giving up.

The truth is that failure isn’t what we make it out to be, it is the mindset that people adopt about failure; which makes individuals get depressed and sad when they fail. My advice is that you need to change your whole perspective on life. I’m not saying that you shouldn’t feel bad at any point, that’d be inhuman. I’m saying that you should learn to be an optimist and always look forward to solutions.

It is true that you just lost a promotion, one which would have fulfilled a huge part of your dreams; but this is not the end of your story. What you do with this experience will determine how this story will continue and eventually end. You can choose to see this as either a stumbling block that finishes your career or a stepping stone that helps you to grow in it.

The road to success is actually designed with signposts of failure. It does not matter how many times you come across them, as long as you do not allow them to define you. Your ultimate destination does not change!

Life may seem a bit too hard and you may actually believe that you deserve better than what you are offered. Believe me, I think so too. As a matter of fact, I think we all do. But we don’t always get what we deserve. But that desire to never give up is the strongest and most admirable characteristic of us humans. So you just keep on keeping on.

There are many reasons why you may have failed, or why you do not possess what you have worked so hard for. Whatever the reason may be; if there were slip ups on your part, or things just didn’t work out as planned. You just have to understand that life is a big gamble and the most interesting thing about it is that you can’t actually predict the future. So all you have to do is fight for what you believe in.

A fact that many often forget is that you will do yourself a whole lot of good if you are able to pick yourself up and review what you did and what went wrong, it makes your failure and mistakes worth the trouble. It gives you the opportunity to take responsibility for what went wrong and grow through it.

One common thing with successful people is that they always fail many times before their breakthrough. If you don’t know how to get comfortable with your failures; you may never be able to lay your hands on the ultimate success!
